Worktrees
A worktree is a working copy of one project on one node; the Worktrees page calls each one a slot. Every task and console session runs in a slot, so a project can run as many tasks at once as it has free slots. These guides cover the jobs you do with slots. The ideas behind them are in How worktrees work.
- Read a worktree's status — who holds a slot, and the state of its Git tree, stack and session.
- Add worktree slots — give a project more slots on a node.
- Release a worktree — end a hold on a slot so it can be handed out again, and keep its work.
Every column, filter and action on the page is described in the Worktrees reference. The machines slots live on are covered in Nodes.
