Billing

The Billing page is where your organization pays for Jaah: what it pays for, what it was and will be charged, the cards it pays with and the details on its invoices. Select Billing in the sidebar. Only an organization's Owners and Admins see it; other members ask one of them.

Payments are handled by Stripe. You type card numbers only into Stripe's own form; Jaah sees a card's brand, its last four digits and its expiry date, never the full number.

The page has four tabs: Products (the default), Payment history, Payment methods and Billing details.

If card billing isn't set up for your Jaah deployment yet, every tab but Products says Billing isn't set up yet.

Notices

A banner at the top of the page tells you when something needs you:

NoticeWhat to do
A payment failedUpdate your card under Payment methods, then select Pay now on the Subscription page.
A payment needs confirmingYour bank wants 3-D Secure. Follow the link to Stripe's invoice page and confirm.
A card expires soon, or has expiredEdit its expiry date, or add a new card and make it the default.

The same notices reach Owners and Admins in the bell and by email (the Billing email preference). A refund appears in the bell and by email, not as a banner. A banner goes away by itself once the problem is fixed.

Keep this node

While your organization still has its free trial node, a Keep this node — price/mo card above the list offers to keep it as a paid Shared node. It shows once you have a card or a plan, and when your trial is about to end. Select Keep this node, pick a card and select Pay: the node keeps running with the same name, projects and data, and the card shows its progress until it's done.

Payment history

  • Upcoming — your Next charge, for example $49.00 on Nov 3. No upcoming charge means nothing is due.
  • Hosted nodes — shown only if your organization runs nodes billed by the hour. For the current billing period, each node's Hours, hourly Rate and an Estimate, then the total as Stripe will invoice it. Time is counted while a node's machine runs; a stopped machine costs nothing.
  • Invoices — every invoice, newest first: Date, Number, Amount and Status — Paid, Open, Void, Uncollectible, Refunded, Partially refunded or Draft. Each row links to View (Stripe's invoice page, where an open invoice can be paid) and PDF. A refunded invoice also links its Credit note.

Payment methods

Your saved cards. Each shows its brand, last four digits and expiry date. The one marked Default pays your invoices. A card may also show Expires soon, Expired or Last charge failed.

ActionWhat it does
Add cardOpens Stripe's card form. Tick Make default to pay with it from now on. Your first card is always the default.
Make defaultMoves Default to this card. Not offered for an expired card.
EditChanges the expiry date or the name and billing address on the card. To change the number, add a new card.
DeleteRemoves the card. Deleting the default makes your newest valid card the default.

You can't delete your last valid card while you have a paid plan or a hosted node running, because the next charge would have nothing to pay with. Add another card first.

Billing details

The Name, Email, Address and Tax ID printed on your invoices. Select Add or Edit to change them. Invoices already issued keep the details they were issued with.
